Interest Groups
Welcome to our special interest groups. Everyone in the U3A Hawaii organization is expected to participate and one of the best ways of participation is to join and be active in one of our special interest groups. Everyone is considered both a teacher and a student. It depends on one's experience for the most part. We learn from each other.

Online Scholar
U3A places the highest priority on learning and this group will review and discuss the many free online courses available

Storytelling and creative writing group
Everyone has stories to tell and writing them down is very rewarding. The stories will be published online for wider distribution.

Travel group
The words retirement and travel seem to go together and with good reason. The world is still a pretty big place and getting around in later age presents extraordinary opportunities and also concomitantly special considerations. The group discusses local and worldwide destinations and all aspects of the travel experience. Organized trips will be available from time to time.

Music group
The music interest group reviews and discusses all types of rhythms from around the world. Dance classes may be offered from time to time. Musical events are available year-round with paid attendance.

Boating group
Hawaii boating can be enjoyed in every part of the state. The boating interest group discusses all aspects of sailing, motorboating, fishing and diving. Safe boating classes will be available at no cost.

Climate Crisis
Adverse climate change Is a global problem that requires everyone to appreciate the steps needed to minimize it's effect. The climate crisis interest group discusses all matters pertaining to this problem.

Science and Technology
The fast changing world of science and technology Is fascinating and the interest group discusses the impact of all these intriguing developments.

Current Events
Current events, interpreted as news of the day, is a subject of unending topics and discussions. The current events interest group will review and evaluate the day's news.
