Location: We are a major gateway to the Grampians Mountains in Victoria, on the Western Highway to Adelaide.

The discovery of gold in 1857 during the Victorian gold rush (above) transformed Ararat into a boomtown which continued to prosper until the turn of the 20th century. It was proclaimed as a city on 24 May 1950.

Membership: We are a small U3A, just five years old (see photo right with past and present Presidents cutting the cake), with a growing membership, now just short of one hundred.

Activity groups: We offer craft and woodwork, walking groups in our beautiful countryside, social activities such as cards and excursions to galleries, history, philosophy, psychology, music, Italian, French, computers, family history and samba.
