From
Jenny Jones of Brighton and Hove U3A
1. Location: The city of Brighton & Hove is in East Sussex,
UK on the coast about 50 miles south of London. Often referred
to as London by the sea, Brighton & Hove is a vibrant
city. Its most famous landmark is Brighton Pavilion, a former royal
palace, which looks Indian on the outside and Chinese on the inside!
2. Members: Our U3A was founded in 1985 and we now have around
350 members. We are also part of the Sussex U3A Network, which organises
study days for members across the region.
3. Activities: Our groups meet in a variety of locations across
the city. They include Local History, Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation,
French, German, Italian, Spanish, Body Basics, Computing, Autobiography,
English Literature, Book Reading, Play Reading, Greek Tragedy, Family
History, Discussion, Walking, Singing, Digital Photography, Scrabble,
Stretch & Relax, Sunday Lunch. We also have a large and lively social
group that organises an excellent programme of outings and events.
4. What I like best about our U3A: Meeting new people and learning
new things. www.brightonandhoveu3a.org.uk
