The encouragement and go ahead for spreading U3A in Nigeria came from Prof Francois Villas, President of International Association of Universities of the Third Age (IAUTA) when he visited Nigeria. His message made an indelible impression on us and we feel confident that the U3A Project Lagos Center will soar to great heights and meet his expectations.

We were fortunate to be able to build upon the work done for seniors by Family Ark Mission, a charity organisation dedicated to helping our older people make the most of later life. Ageing is not an illness, but it can be challenging. Family Ark Mission provides services to inspire, enable, support older people and be their voice in the society.

Our out-reach programme enabled us to join the Pass It On Network of international organisations, and through them we were put in touch with WORLDU3A - the international service of the University of the Third Age.
