Melbourne U3A

Where we are: Melbourne is the coastal capital of the southeastern Australian state of Victoria and U3A Melbourne City, established in 1985, was the first in the country. The city has the enviable reputation of being one of the most liveable in the world and we like to think our U3A is a contributory factor to that for its older residents.

With a population of 5 million, the city is also one of the most multicultural in the world and our members come from a variety of backgrounds, with varied life experiences and a wide range of interests, all of which are reflected in the courses we offer and our social activities.

Interest Groups: Along with traditional subjects there are often opportunities to paint the masterpiece you have always dreamt of, hone your musical talents, be introduced to mahjong and even belly dancing. And then there is always the wine appreciation group for recovery!

Our ‘Let’s Do’ groups take advantage of all a vibrant city has to offer with visits to theatres, concerts, cinemas and galleries as well as exploratory walks and bike rides. Our regular Forums, which are open to the general public, also benefit from the availability of guest speakers at the core of the intellectual life of the country.

Comment: We are very fortunate and would be happy to say hello or, more appropriately, g’day should you find yourself in Melbourne.
