| Location:
Royal Tunbridge Wells is the only spa town in the South East of England
and it owes its existence to the discovery of a local Spring in 1606 by
Dudley, Lord North.
Once the playground of royalty and the aristocracy, Tunbridge Wells became a rival to Bath and nearby Brighton. Visitors can still taste the Spring water today just as visitors such as Queen Anne, Queen Victoria, Samuel Pepys and Daniel Defoe, to name just a few, did over the last 400 years. |

| Membership
and activity groups: We have approximately 800 members, and more than
80 learning and leisure groups including Arts, Discussions, History, Science,
Computing, Walking, Games, Visits, Gardening and much, much more. We meet on the 3rd Thursday in the month at the Camden Centre, Tunbridge Wells 2.30-4pm, to listen to stimulating speakers. This is followed by time to socialise and catch-up with fellow members. |
