Where is technology taking us?" a subject that is surely very important - and even more so now that it's finally sinking in to everyone that we are heading for a 'Climate emergency'.

Starting with a quick view of some of the discoveries and new ventures already in place, we will explore some of the ways that the 'communications revolution' is changing our world now, and will no doubt change it even more in the future. Claire Eglinton, U3A Alliance Australia newsletter reports: Thanks to everyone who searched their network events for stories with some national interest and supported them with quality photos. I particularly liked Queensland's stories of reaping the benefits of multi-generational collaboration which ranged from IT advice to getting a building painted. Though U3A Cairns admit their venue's colourful new exterior bore no resemblance to the original concept, members are delighted with the result. Peter Alcock is current Chairman of the National Alliance of U3As in Australia (U3AAA) which is a forum for linking groups throughout Australia via State networks with the aim of promoting the brand and the ideals of U3A.

One of the longest running activities of the Northern Rivers University of the Third Age, the U3A radio show, will celebrate its 25th birthday in December. In all that time it has had just four presenters - Graeme Eggins, the late Norman Cochrane, Coralie Gardiner and currently Des Ball.

Des has been hosting two hours of relaxing music on community station River FM 92.9 for the past 15 years. He retired from a busy career working in banks "all over the place", ending as Lismore manager of the old CBA, which became Westpac.

The ESA Science Educational Support web pages offer an overview of educational material that has been prepared with the support of the ESA Science and Robotic Exploration Directorate. Brochures provide an overview of a wide variety of topics including ESA missions, Education, ESA sites and history.

The pages have been designed to serve as a gateway to the resources for every person or organisation involved in formal or informal science education, and there is a huge range of free downloadable material, images, documents, posters, video clips, spacecraft models and more.

The WikiArt website features some 250,000 artworks by 3,000 artists, localized on 7 languages. These artworks are in museums, universities, town halls, and other civic buildings of more than 100 countries. Most of this art is not on public view. With your active involvement, we are planning to cover the entire art history of the Earth, from cave artworks to modern private collections. We also provide you with tools for translation on as many languages as needed.

The project is non-profit. We use advertising as finance to cover hosting and technical service expenses. The content of the site is launched for free by our Volunteer Team - and you are welcome to join it.

For senior citizens in Petaling Jaya, one way to keep the mind and body active, is being members of lifelong learning bodies such as the Association for Lifelong Learning of Older Persons, also known as U3A - University of the Third Age. Today, 16 of the students at U3A Petaling Jaya (U3APJ) successfully 'graduated' and received their certificates after working hard to complete their courses.

U3APJ president, Albert Teh said "U3A is a place where people get together, learn and share their experiences and expertise. This place must keep moving in order to provide a chance for retirees to network and socialise with people in their own age group, which is something many seniors don't have the luxury of doing. This is important because older people who are active tend to have fewer health problems as even in retirement, senior citizens can remain productive and active," he said.

Professor Fabio Hauagge do Prado, Director of U3A UDC in Foz do Iguacu and in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay organised a meeting with Professor Francois Vellas, AIUTA President, and some representatives from SENATUR Paraguay on U3As and Senior Tourism.

Paraguay will develop in cooperation with UDC U3A new senior study tours in Ciudad del Este city and region and they are now planning to send delegates to next WSTC 2020 in Yantai, China.
