 Taking
care of grandchildren: Many parents turn to grand-parents for help with
childcare, and in some cases it is the grandmother who brings up children.
Grandparents Plus is the
national charity (England and Wales) which champions the vital role of grandparents
and the wider family in  children’s
lives – especially when they take on the caring role in difficult family
circumstances. One in four working families depends on grandparents for
childcare. This ranges from regular childcare for babies and toddlers to
dropping off and picking up children from school, to helping out when the
children are ill or during the school holidays. The Grandparents Association
has a family childcare checklist which you might find a useful starting
point. |

The award was given in recognition to his continuous selfless services for the cause and care of Elderly particularly protecting lonely senior citizens from abuses/humiliations from their own children and others even without the help from Delhi Police. |

Dr Reeves says “Cautious evaluation of the ... scans ... has yielded results which are beyond intriguing: indications of two previously unknown doorways, one set within a larger partition wall and both seemingly untouched since antiquity." The unusually small size and shape of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber has puzzled archaeologists since its discovery in 1922 by Howard Carter. Dr Reeves suggests that it was built as an extension to another tomb perhaps belonging to Queen Nefertiti. If that is the case, then this would finally put paid to an earlier theory, that the mummy known as "the Younger Lady" found in tomb KV35 is that of Nefertiti. |

NEXT
AIUTA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: The
next AIUTA International Conference and Governing Board will take place
on May 12th -14th 2016 in Reims in France. Prof Patrick Demouy informed
the AIUTA Governing Board in Lublin. 
UK:
Representatives
from the Third Age Trust participated in the AIUTA Governing Board with
a presentation from Ian Funnell AIUTA Treasurer. In addition Morag Tamisari
presented a contribution at the conference on "Senior Students"
and Maria Chester was chairman of a session on international contributions.
SÉNÉGAL:
Président
Camara, from the Sénégal Association of Universities of
Third Age participated in the AIUTA Governing Board and Conference. He
invited Prof François VELLAS and Vice President Yuan Xin Li to
come on official visit to Sénégal with Prof Parsuramen Président
of U3A Mauritius next December to meet national authorities and senior
students.
TUNISIA:
The International
Conference organised jointly with AIUTA, SEABEL and TED AFL took place
in Djerba TUNISIA last October 8-9th. This conference focused on Senior
Tourism and University of Third Age. New touristic products linked with
U3A have been analysed with participants from African countries.
ALBANIA:
Prof François
Vellas visited Tirana (Albania) with Mr Nikos Mistriotis at the invitation
of NYC Member of AIUTA. The project is to set up the first University
of Third Age in Albania jointly with NYCT and Université du Troisième
Age de Toulouse. Several meetings with official have been organised as
well as with the Director General of the Ministry of Economics of Albania
U3A
India: J. R. Gupta, President of U3A India and Chairperson, Confederation
of Senior Citizens Associations of Delhi ( an umbrella body of 11 lakh
senior citizens ) and Senior Citizens Council of Delhi was honoured with
BEST SENIOR CITIZENS AWARD by Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of
Delhi on the occasion of International Elders Day Function held on 1-10-2015
at Delhi Secretariat.
