We currently work with 40 young women 20 in Wakiso and 20 in Soroti district. They are given children's clothes and other basic items and are taught the dangers of early marriage to act as advocates against the vice.

All the women are taken through personal development and are given entrepreneurship skills to generate an income to keep their children in school and out of marriage.

Over 40% of young girls aged between 10 - 16 years in Uganda are given away in marriage before their 18th birthday, reducing their chances of getting a full education; many of their mothers depend on small scale agriculture as their main source of income to help raise money to keep their children in school and out of early marriage however, what they earn from their farming is sometimes too meager to support an extended family and young girls end up being forced into marriage young and inexperienced as a sacrifice for the rest of the family.

Pass it on Trust Uganda is therefore working with 2 women groups in Eastern and Central Uganda; Ojikai village women group in Soroti district and Bulondo village women group in Wakiso district. The main goal of this project is to offer social entrepreneurship skills trainings to empower women between 16 to 40 years to help open their minds, give them knowledge and exposure so that they can get inspired to become economically independent to start self sustaining social enterprises to help raise funds to improve their household incomes, which will enable them keep their children in school and out of early or forced child marriages.
